Carol Bush is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Ellis County Bar Association. Judge Bush holds a Juris Doctorate from St. Mary's University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts degrees from San Antonio's Trinity University. Prior to assuming office, Judge Bush maintained a law and mediation practice and previously served Ellis County as County Court at Law Judge and as an Assistant District and County Attorney.
She has been active in the community serving on the Waxahachie Education Foundation Board of Directors, the Waxahachie Independent School District Long Range Planning Committee, and the Global High Administrative Planning Team, overseeing development of a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Academy for WISD.
Locally, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Ellis County Gingerbread House Children’s Advocacy Center, the Ellis County Juvenile Justice Board, and as an Advisory Board member to the Waxahachie Economic Development Committee and to the Midlothian and Waxahachie Chambers of Commerce.
Regionally, Judge Bush chairs the Elected Officials Committee for Region 10 of the Regional Healthcare Partnership and has served as Lead Chief Elected Official of the North Central Texas Council of Government Workforce Board. She is also a member of the Regional Transportation Council of the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
At the State level, Judge Bush is a Governor’s Appointee to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department Board of Directors and a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
