Effective March 1st, 2010, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office will be posting Notices of Estray Livestock on this website.

Pursuant to Chapter 4, Title 121, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, lawfully impounded livestock will be sold at public auction on the date and time posted on this page of the Official Ellis County website. If you have knowledge of someone who may be missing livestock, please check the Estray-Auction page of this website. If this could possibly be your animal, contact the Civil Division of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 972-825-4967. No other Notice will be published.

Other personal or real property may be listed on this website for auction.

Date: April 12, 2021 

On the 11th day of April A.D. 2021, I impounded the below described estray: 

Animal Type:   1 Cow            Breed: Spanish Corriente

Color:  Black with brown       Size:  Approximately 800-900 pounds

Sex:     Female                         Age: Approximately 4-5 years old

Brand, Earmark, Identifying Characteristics: Mostly black with brown mixed.  Has horns.  No tags, no brands.     

Location of the Estray when impounded:  400 E. Madison Waxahachie, TX. 75165. Originally located at 501 S. Rogers Waxahachie, TX.

Reporting Party:  Waxahachie, TX. Police Department 

And, on the 12th day of April A.D. 2021 I filed NOTICE OF ESTRAY with the Ellis County Clerk’s office of Ellis County, Texas. Notice is hereby given that if the ownership of said Estray is not determined by the 29th day of April A.D. 2021, said Estray will be sold at Public Auction/Sheriff’s sale at:   Hubbard Livestock Market, 3422 State Highway 31, Hubbard TX; Sale starting @ 1pm on Monday May 03, 2021.



BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority on the 12th day of April A.D. 2021 personally appeared Deputy J. Cozby #404 in and for Ellis County Texas who being duly sworn deposes and says: That on the 12th day of April A.D. 2021, I was notified of the above-described livestock running at large in Ellis County Texas at the above-described location and pursuant to the stock laws of the State of Texas, Chapter 4, Title 121 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, impounded said livestock same being impounded at the above-described location.
