Election Day Information
Texas law permits anyone to vote who is registered and eligible within the political jurisdiction holding an election. The Elections Department establishes and staffs polling locations for countywide elections and any political jurisdiction that contracts with the Elections Department. Locations depend on availability and the jurisdictions holding the election. Election Day Polling Locations are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Starting in May 2019, Election Day voters can vote at ANY Ellis County Vote Center (Polling Location) that is convenient for you. Voting at a Vote Center does NOT eliminate your voter registration precinct which is located on your voter registration certificate. Your residence is located in a specific “precinct” or area within the county. The political districts you are eligible to vote on are located on the right side of your voter registration certificate (see below image). Notice of Voting Order Priority
Pursuant to Section 63.0013, Election Code:
An election officer may give voting order priority to individuals with a mobility problem that substantially impairs the person's ability to move around. Click here for more information.
