NEW POLICY

Effective March 1st, 2010, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office will be posting Notices of Estray Livestock on this website.

Pursuant to Chapter 4, Title 121, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, lawfully impounded livestock will be sold at public auction on the date and time posted on this page of the Official Ellis County website. If you have knowledge of someone who may be missing livestock, please check the Estray-Auction page of this website. If this could possibly be your animal, contact the Civil Division of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 972-825-4967. No other Notice will be published.

Other personal or real property may be listed on this website for auction.        

                             NOTICE OF IMPOUNDMENT OF ESTRAY

Date: November 28, 2023

On the 27th day of November A.D. 2023, I impounded the below described estray:

Animal Type: Pig Breed: Pot Belly

Color: Red/ Tri-color Size: Approximately 10 pounds

Sex: Female Age: 2-4 Months old

Brand, Earmark, Identifying Characteristics: Red with black dots, white muzzle & white feet.

Location of the Estray when impounded: 405 Lazy Springs Road Red Oak, TX.

Reporting Party: Megan Wood

And, on the 28th day of November A.D. 2023 I filed NOTICE OF ESTRAY with the Ellis County Clerk’s office of Ellis County, Texas.

Notice is hereby given that if the ownership of said Estray is not determined by the 15th day of December A.D. 2023, said Estrays will be sold at Public Auction/Sheriff’s sale at: Ellis County Livestock Pens, 133 Hoyt Road, Waxahachie, TX; Sale starting @ 10am on Monday December 18th, 2023.

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority on the 28th day of November A.D. 2023 personally appeared Deputy J. Cozby #404 in and for Ellis County, Texas who being duly sworn, deposes and says: That on the 27th day of November A.D. 2023, I was notified of the above-described livestock running at large in Ellis County, Texas at the above-described location and pursuant to the stock laws of the State of Texas, Chapter 4, Title 121 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, impounded said livestock, same being impounded at the above-described location.

Color: Charolias & Red Size: Appx. 1,250 lbs. each

Sex: Both Female Age: Both approximately 6 years old

Brand, Earmark, Identifying Characteristics: Charolais has yellow left ear ‘109’ & Brahman cross has left hip brand which possibly reads ‘RC’

Location of the Estray when impounded: Old Maypearl Road in Maypearl, TX. Near the water treatment plant.

Reporting Party: City of Maypearl

And, on the 28th day of November A.D. 2023 I filed NOTICE OF ESTRAY with the Ellis County Clerk’s office of Ellis County, Texas.
