What's New?

Effective 9/1/19, SB2128 authorizes a notary public or other such officer to declare that a copy of an electronic record is a true and correct copy of that record by executing and attaching an official seal to a tangible paper declaration under penalty of perjury and affixing or attaching the declaration to the printed paper or tangible copy. The bill requires the form of declaration to be substantially in the form prescribed by the bill and establishes that a document that is a copy of an electronic record and that is printed and appropriately declared satisfies any requirement of law that prescribes certain conditions for recording. Section 12.0011(b), Chapter 12, Property Code

Recording a document in Official Public Record:

  • The document must be an original or clerk certified copy.
  • The document must be signed and notarized.
  • Each document must include a return name and address.

Visit our office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to utilize one of several public access computers.
